High End Bak Kut Teh @ Pao Xiang BKT Pavillion KL

We decided to have our late brunch at Pao Xiang BKT in Pavillion before head to Marini's on 57, the rooftop bar at Petronas Tower 3. Pao Xiang BKT considered high end in BKT chain in Malaysia and Singapore. At Pao Xiang, the BKT comes with a dark savoury herbal soup and white peppery and has wide choice of meats and cuts served in a mini porcelain bowl with a flame below to keep it hot.

Small bones RM15
The herbal soup was not overpowering and quite pleasing. The pork meats were rather lean and tender.

Braised eggs RM3.60, Dough Fritter RM5, Golden Mushroom RM10, White Rice RM2.50
I like the braised egg. The braised sauce was savoury and tasted good with rice. My BKT meal ain't perfect without dough fritter. It soaked the broth nicely giving a punch in flavour.

Yao Mak Vege RM12
Nothing to shout about this plate of vege. Their presentation just similar to what I had in SS14 Subang Jaya.

Chinese tea RM9/pot

Overall the experience at Pao Xiang is a novel way of presenting the common BKT in modernized setting but the prices might be on steep if compared to local BKT prices. I still prefer the traditional claypot BKT.
